JEDDAH: Rock n Roll didn’t skip a beat, so to speak, and how.

Finding its groove at last, Rock n Roll recorded the first grand slam of the tournament, winning the Team of the Week award and men’s and ladies Bowler of the Week accolade during the 7th session in the 35th FTBJ-ICBL Sky Freight Forwarders League at the Bowling City here.

Rock n Roll was so good on this day its award-winning total of 46 was 2 points shy of the perfect score and topped only by the 47 Sadafco registered in the five-man team Friday afternoon league event.

Rommel Cagampang and Aileen Miralbuna then made it a day to remember for Rock n Roll by clinching the Bowler of the Week award for the men’s and ladies divisions respectively.

Hidada was a distant second to Rock n Roll on 35.5 points but its total was good enough to knock Sadafco out of first place in the team standings after Sadafco slumped to 12th and last spot on the day with a measly 9 points.

Par Excellence, Masaken and Sagmit Dental Clinic followed Hidada on 35, 33 and 30 points in that order. Al Murjana was sixth on the day with 26 points, well ahead of D’ Barkads 24, Ceebee Aviation 21 and Steelers 20.5. Sky Freight-OSN finished on 19 points and ICBL Mix Insert on 13.

Rock n Roll played all three games not lower than second and was first in overall output for another 12 points.

Cagampang shot the high series of 696 on lines of 180-248 and 247 while leading Rock n Rock. Daryl Laquias rolled 636 and Miralbuna 611 in support of Cagampang.

Lenlen Berina was the other player to contribute from the distaff side on 555. Team manager Jayson Castillo and Jay Bengco shared the remaining three games on 188-174 and 204.

Nonie Yap returned the top score of 677 at Hidada, which also got 593 and 522 from Grace Siasoco and Pinky Acato along with the 186-204 from Ed Cordova, 213-169 from Romy Bunagan and a pair of 180s from Nanding Siasoco.

At Par Excellence team Archie Santos was the main man on 689. Nurissa Ramos compiled 587 and Eloisa Fernandez had 534 to go with the 548 by Emil Payongayong, 216-193 by Yasser Hokbi and 164 by Edu Toledo.

The duo of Zaldy Bacero and Paolo Allego led Masaken on 625 and 621 respectively.
