JEDDAH: Sky Freight-OSN emerged Team of the Week for the first time after a splendid display during the 8th session in the 35th FTBJ-ICBL Sky Freight Forwarders League at the Bowling City here.

Sky Freight finished on 46 points becoming the second team in successive weeks to come within 2 points shy of the perfect 48 in the five-man team Friday afternoon league event.

Meantime, the tug-of-war for leadership between Sadafco and Hidada shifted Sadafco’s way as the erstwhile league leader fell victim to an indifferent performance and wound up next to last on the day with 11.5 points.

Sadafco while not outstanding conjured a total, 29.5 points, that returned Igna Salgado’s team to the top of the team standings, while Hidada dropped to third place right behind Masaken.

Steelers used first-place finish in the first game to be in second place on 38.5 points with Ceebee Aviation on 34 and Sagmit Dental Clinic, adjudged Best Team in Uniform during the parade/presentation of teams last Friday, on 33.5.

D’ Barkads compiled 27 points, right behind Sadafco and followed by Al Murjana 23 and ICBL Mix Insert 21. Masaken and Rock n Roll tied on 19 points. Par Excellence brought up the rear on 19.

Babes Tiongson made it a Sky Freight double when she romped off with the ladies Bowler of the Week award on 610 on scratch games of 188, 138 and 155. Veteran Goying Salazar and James Galvan also bowled big for Sky Freight on 617 and 608, while Imelda Sayago added 587 as the fourth player to go the distance. Oca Bernabe contributed 223-222 while Bonnie Garcia chipped in with 223.

Steelers, led by Randy Mata, used a single set of five players to build their total. Randy came through with 639, Gail Mata and Ric Antonio matched cards of 623, Grace Funtilon made 602 and Nezar Mohd. compiled 597.

Danny Bautista owned the leading score of 636 at Ceebee with Frank Afurong and Pancho Cuevas missing a few pins to top 600 with their 598 and 591 respectively. Ceebee’s five-man team also featured 589 from Charrie Guzman and 556 from Aisah Silabay.

As well as winning the Best Team in Uniform award Sagmit Dental Clinic claimed the men’s Bowler of the Week courtesy of Ruel Santoc who rolled the high series of 665 on lines of 232, 207 and 190.

Ric Reformado provided a strong backup to Ruel on 649. Ding dela Rosa tossed in 598 and from the distaff side Sherly Sagmit tallied 552 and Evelyn Santoc scored 509.

Sadafco had Edwin Ronquillo rolling a team-high of 632 that went with the 569 and 530 from Marissa Resano and Malou Nidoy as well as the two games each of Igna Salgado 189-215, Joel Nidoy 194-199 and Andy Yumena 198-186.

Leading the D’ Barkads charge was the trio of Leo Edejer 616, Dan Ednave 605 and Ed Sardiña 599. The other scorers were Cheryl Tibay 574 and Thess Grandia 523.
