MUNICH, Germany: Evergreen German Tommy Haas beat defending champion Philipp Kohlschreiber in straight sets on Sunday to win the Munich claycourt title for the first time at the 10th attempt, 13 years after his first appearance in the final.

Haas, 35, needed just 82 minutes to seal his 6-3, 7-6 (7/3) win over compatriot Kohlschreiber and pick up the 14th ATP title of his career.
