JEDDAH: Xtreme Taurus joined three-time champion Sky Freight-OSN as the only teams to post the most number of Team of the Week victories at 3 apiece during the 13th session in the OSN-FTBJ 50th Open Conference bowling tournament at the Bowling City here.

Raising the level of its performance as the games wore on, Taurus returned the highest total of 44 points.

Masaken was four points adrift of the session’s winner on 40 points with MC Hammer on 35, Alfa-Moe Yasser 34 and Habagat 30. D’ Barkads carded 28 points to be in sixth spot on the day followed by Red Dragons 24, BCT-Lutong Pinoy 22 and Sky Freight-OSN 20.

Al Murjana, Bank AlJazira Fawri and GBI-TBBGI were the last three teams on 16, 10 and 9 points in that order.

Nonie Yap of Alfa Moe Yasser won the individual Bowler of the Week race, shooting the high series of 699 on lines of 196, 226 and 277.

Edwin Ronquillo rolled three-game series of 676 to be at the helm for Taurus that went first-second-first for the last two games and overall output after a rather tame start for 9 points in the first game.

Ronquillo shot rounds of 195, 224 and 257 to pace teammates Reggie Mendoza 658, Jimmy Urbano and Joel Nidoy 634. Arman Gamboa added 159-141 and Raul delos Reyes tossed in 222.

Taurus, which starts the next session in fourth place from fifth in the team standings, won its earlier awards during the fifth and seventh weeks.

Ding Dela Rosa and Jay Bengco struck hardest for Masaken on 655 and 643 with Jimmy Mandingiado on 592 and Steve Fragata on 578. Rene Ocampo contributed 195-182 and Mhon Laxamana had 199.

Over at MC Hammer the trio of Paolo Allego, Melvin Lising and Rene Punzalan delivered the lethal blows in a five-man team attack on 623, 614 and 613 to go with the 593 by Dylan Ilagan and 569 by Zaldy Bacero.

Besides Yap the others in the Alfa Moe five-man team rotation were Rey Feliciano 672, Danny Bautista 670, Benjie Cils 569 and Obie Ycasas 496.

The leading scorers at Habagat were Rommel Cagampag 659, Med Ramos 592, Ver Jasa 575 and Jimmy Aragones.
