The Saudi stock market sustained its upward march yesterday, closing the day with modest gains.
The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) edged higher by 0.61 percent to 6,790.96 points.
All market cap indices ended the day in the positive zone, with Micro cap up over one percent.
Sectoral performance was tremendous, as 11 out of the 15 sectors closed in upward territory, accumulating an aggregate of over 500 points. Only three sectors ended in red, paring nominal 25 points collectively. While, Energy sector closed without any change.
Transport and Industrial Investment sectors outperformed, showing a daily growth of 3.02 percent and 1.31 percent respectively.
Saudi Arabia Fertilizers Co. (SAFCO) and Al-Rajhi Bank were major gainers among heavyweights, up 1.3 percent and 1.01 percent respectively. Only Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily) shares fell 0.4 percent for the day.
Market breadth was largely positive, whereby 108 symbols closed in green and 24 closed in red, while 20 remained unchanged.
Insurance stocks led the top gainer and loser charts at Tadawul, with Enaya Insurance traded in the green zone for the third consecutive day, rising by 9.9 percent to close at SR58.25.
On the other hand, Amana Insurance became the biggest loser of the day, declining by 5.97 percent.
Investors' confidence restoring at Tadawul, as the volume of shares traded increased by 20.6 percent to reach 377.8 million shares. In addition, the value of shares traded increased by 32.7 percent over the previous day's value.
