It was a very tragic incident just two weeks before Christmas. I have no words which can console the families who lost their near and dear ones in the tragedy that occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Connecticut, the US, on Friday.
A 20-year-old killer, carrying two handguns, massacring 26 people, including 20 young children is very tragic and most heart wrenching. Americans’ love for the gun is unique. The state endorses this sentiment by making it easier for its citizens to obtain firearms in the name of protection. The gruesome killing at the school is a clarion call for the US to implement laws which restrict people’s access to guns.
A proper, detailed investigation is needed to study the problem to avoid the recurrence of such incidents in the future. I hope that those who lost family members can have the strength to bear the loss of their loved ones. May God give them the strength to overcome the pain and sorrow!
