Popular heritage events were launched along with the seventh Hail International Desert Festival, which is being held in the northern region of the Kingdom under the patronage of Hail Governor Prince Saud bin Abdulmuhsin.

The events are taking place at the Al-Meghwat park under the supervision of the region’s Tourism Development Council. It is organized by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities in collaboration with the Hail Municipality and Hail University.

“A large turnout of desert and event lovers is expected,” said Mubarak Al-Salamah, SCTA’s branch director in Hail. He said he expected a large number of visitors from all over the Kingdom and Gulf countries.

“Popular heritage is an essential part of Saudi citizens’ lives and we are determined to hold such events every year,” he said.

He said the events would include different competitions with a variety of prizes. “There will be prizes for the best traditional clothes, best coffee and best coal-baked bread.”
