A number of current and former Shoura members have lauded the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) for its efforts to rehabilitate and preserve archaeological sites in the Al-Ula Municipality.

In a letter to the SCTA President Prince Sultan bin Salman, they stressed that the SCTA’s efforts in the preservation and excavation of antiquities across Al-Ula, 350 km north of Madinah are “distinguished, deliberate and of high quality.”

The Shoura members’ remarks came after their tour of Al-Ula, which included visits to Al-Ula Museum and Heritage Village and the Dadan archaeological site.

They also expressed hope that the SCTA will be provided with the necessary support to market the archaeological sites nationally and internationally. They also hoped that cooperation efforts with the tourism activation committees across the provinces and municipalities of the Kingdom will be stepped up.
