The organizing committee of the Kingdom’s tourism award launched a new bilingual Arabic-English website to receive entries for the fourth Saudi Excellence in Tourism Award 2014.
The award, which is one of initiatives created by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, will be presented in a special ceremony on Apr. 2, on the sidelines of the seventh edition of Saudi Travel and Tourism Investment Market (STTIM-2014).
The event is set to take place at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center between Mar. 30 and Apr. 3, the SCTA media center announced on Thursday.
The new website aims to facilitate the nomination process to ensure greater participation. The website — www.sauditourismawards.com — allows participants to post details and information about the candidates. In addition, boxes have been allocated for contributors to mark their reasons for nomination.
The website also provides a list of cities and provinces to widen the scope of nomination to incorporate categories throughout the Kingdom.
According to the SCTA’s media center statement, candidates that register ahead of time on the website will have more time to secure the largest number of votes. The statement indicated that voting on the website will be allowed for the duration of one month for each of the candidates in order to give equal opportunities for contestants.
The award marks a new and important stage in the development of the Kingdom’s tourism industry and will be given for outstanding achievements in the tourism field, for individuals and facilities.
The award aims to encourage individuals and institutions alike to achieve the highest possible standards, with the overarching desire to develop tourism activities in the Kingdom.
Alef International, a professional publishing company (publishers of Saudi Voyager Terhal magazines for SCTA), are the organizers of the award.
