The National Water Company is implementing a number of new projects worth SR 4 billion in Jeddah’s historical region as well as its northern and southern parts.
The projects include replacement pipes that can pump larger quantities of water, construction of main pipeline networks and setting up of pumping stations.
The company will also replace sewage pipelines in the historical region, covering 3,750 hectares between Tahlia Street on the north, Sitteen Street on the east, Andalus Street on the west and Mahjar Street on the south.
“This project is estimated to cost SR 1.2 billion. We’ll invite tenders for it next year and it will be implemented in 48 months,” the company said.
The projects north of Jeddah would cover Obhur, Dahban, Sultan, Hamdaniya, Wafa, Falah, Majed, Salihiya, Aziziya and Rahmaniya.
“At present we are constructing main sewage pipelines at a cost of more than SR 1 billion,” the company said. It also intends to implement an environmental service project in North Jeddah at a cost of SR 1.23 billion.
