This refers to the report, "Incredible Windies stuns world to take T20 glory" (Oct. 8). The West Indies team won the T20 champions for the first time. It’s a major victory for them in the last 33 years. The last time they won a major tournament was the World Cup in 1979. What a team!
The tournament also handed Sri Lanka their fourth defeat in a major final since 2007.It knows how to celebrate and entertain.
“It is hard to explain what this victory means to me and my team,” said Samuels, as the West Indies celebrated wildly with energetic ‘Gangnam Style’ dancing. It was indeed a jaw-dropping scene to see Chris Gayle and his team performing the “Gangnam Style” dance. It was spontaneous, which put to shame Bollywood stars, who perform after numerous practices and takes. The team knows how to party and celebrate victory. Trust this victory by West Indies brings the best in them in future competition. Sri Lankans were not too bad, but on the given day, they could not perform.
