Winners of math-physics olympiad honored

King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and the Ministry of Education yesterday honored winners of the National Olympiad for Mathematics and Physics (NOMP).
KACST Deputy President for Research Turki Al-Saudi said the comprehensive national plan for science, technology and innovation focused on many areas but most importantly on math and physics being the basis for other applied sciences.
He appreciated the support of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Crown Prince Naif for the plan.
Education Ministry Undersecretary for Educational Affairs Haya bint Abdulaziz lauded cooperation between KACST and the Ministry and their role in the development of the educational process.
KACST President Muhammed al-Suwail and Deputy Minister of Education Khalid Al-Sabti distributed certificates and financial rewards to the winners of the Olympiad.
Twenty male and female students were equally declared winners in the second phase of the 13th National Olympiad for Math. Another 20 male and female students were declared winners in the second phase of the 9th National Olympiad for Physics.
