BERLIN: An anti-corruption watchdog group says a new report shows that public sector corruption is still a major problem around the world, but more countries are improving than worsening and the United States and United Kingdom reached their best rankings ever.

Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index, which was released Wednesday, shows Denmark still at the top of the list for the second year in a row as the country perceived as the least corrupt, with a score of 91 out of 100. North Korea and Somalia brought up the rear with scores of 8.

The US rose one spot to 16th place with a score of 76 while the UK rose to place tenth with a score of 81.
