KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Fauzia Wahab passed away yesterday in a private hospital of Karachi.
Wahab was hospitalized on May 27 due to sudden illness. She underwent three operations.
Information Minister of Sindh Sharjeel Memon said Wahab’s funeral prayers would be offered today after the afternoon prayers at DHA’s Sultan Masjid in Karachi.
Muttaihida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Babar Ghouri said that negligence of doctors resulted in Wahab’s death.
The PPP has canceled all its political activities for 10 days.
President Asif Ali Zardari paid great tributes to Wahab’s services for the party saying that she was a steadfast loyalist of the party who braved difficult situations.
