Zain KSA signs interconnect deal with Kuwaiti ministry

Zain KSA, operator of the latest telecommunications network in Saudi Arabia, announced that it has signed an interconnection agreement with the Ministry of Communications in Kuwait in order to connect its network in the Kingdom with the ministry’s network, via a ground cable passing through the port border between the two countries as a first stage.
The agreement was signed by Kuwait’s Minister of Communications Salem Mutheeb Al-Atheena and Zain KSA CEO Fraser Curley.
The company explained that the agreement will enhance its operations in the international interconnection services, opening new horizons to increase its market share in the field of international communications, considering the enormity of international traffic between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Al-Atheena pointed out that this agreement comes as part of his ministry tireless efforts to enhance the quality and improvement of the telecommunication services in Kuwait, as well as ensuring the continuity and efficiency of international communication service in the country.
He added that this agreement will enhance the ministry’s network ability to establish new growth channels for its development projects, by providing it with more areas to take advantage of the tremendous growth opportunities in international telecommunications services sector in general.
Curley said the agreement was within a series of projects that the company had been implementing in order to develop and improve the quality of its services, in addition to its role in increasing the company's market share in the field of international communications.
Curley explained that the company depends on a range of projects that open new growth areas for its operations in order to implement its operating strategies, and pointed out that this agreement will allow the company to provide a range of services and innovative applications to its subscribers in the Kingdom.
