Please permit me to congratulate the author on his excellent article that has been widely circulated on the Internet in India. A distinguished soldier friend of mine sent the piece to me.
He is as outraged, as I am, after we have watched the nation’s establishment behaving despicably when they were confronted by the genuine protests of the people. I am happy to say that tens of millions of Indians share our anger and disgust. The writer was not only perceptive, but also deeply empathetic.
The author’s commitment to civil rights and governance comes through very clearly in this piece. More power to his pen! I request him to please keep writing on these vitally important issues. I will certainly follow his columns in Arab News. — Jay Bhattacharjee, By e-mail
