Deputy Minister of Defense Prince Khaled bin Sultan yesterday presided over the graduation ceremony of 25 students from King Fahd Naval College in Jubail governorate. Prince Abdulaziz bin Jalawi, assistant deputy governor of the Eastern Province, was also present.
The prince was received on arrival to the college’s military parade by Naval Forces Commander Lt. Gen. Dakhil-Ullah Al-Waqdani, commander in the Eastern Province, Maj. Gen. Ali bin Isa Asiri, Commander of Eastern Fleet Rear Adm. Gen. Karim Aboul-Ela, and commander of the college Maj. Gen. Ibrahim bin Nasser Al-Maghlouth.
The ceremony began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an and then Al-Maglouth delivered a speech welcoming Prince Khaled and the audience at the graduation ceremony.
He spoke about the exploits of the late Crown Prince Sultan and his support for the construction and development of the armed forces in general and naval forces in particular.
The commander of King Fahd Naval College expressed thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for his support.
Al-Maghlouth noted the interest by the leadership in all sectors and facilities of the armed forces including the college, which continues to supply the armed forces cadres. He referred to the advanced infrastructure, scientific equipment, and high-end training including environmental and electronic simulations to produce graduates.
The graduates delivered speeches thanking Prince Khaled for sponsoring the ceremony, congratulating their parents, and asking God to protect and bless the Kingdom.
The commander asked for permission to start the military parade. The outgoing sergeant then handed the flag to his successor.
A review of marine formations related to naval ships in Saudi Arabia was presented.
The names of the graduates and those of the outstanding students were announced. Prince Khaled handed certificates and awards to students and honored a number of employees at the college.
The deputy defense minister was presented with a commemorative gift by Al-Maghlouth, and the ceremony concluded with the royal anthem.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials, civilians and military personnel and parents.
