JEDDAH: An unresolved dispute between two high school teachers in Al-Kharj turned violent on Wednesday when one of them used a gun to settle the matter, a local online news site reported.
Sabq.org quoted police as saying the culprit, still smarting from a spat with his colleague the day before, brought a Kalashnikov assault rifle to school and shot at his foe when he found him sitting inside his car at the parking lot.
Investigators found the victim's car peppered with bullets at the crime scene, said the repor, quoting Riyadh Police spokesman Colonel Naser bin Saed Al-Qahtani.
Investigators also recovered a number of empty shells near the car, counted 17 bullet holes on the driver’s door, and one on the other side, indicating that one bullet went through one side and out from the other.
The police spokesman said the victim was moved to a military hospital where he was admitted into the intensive care unit as he suffered severe injuries and was in critical condition.
Saud Al-Othman, director of the Riyadh region’s Education Department, later said he visited the victim in hospital and was declared to be in stable condition.
After the incident, the assailant turned himself in to police, along with his gun, the report said.
