JEDDAH, 18 February 2005 — Al-Nasr advanced into the quarterfinals of the Crown Prince Cup soccer tournament with a 4-1 victory over Al-Ansar of Madinah at Prince Faisal ibn Fahd stadium in Riyadh.
Nasr will play the winner of the Al-Ahli-Al-Watani match today in the round of eight. Al-Ittihad take on Hajran in the other match today.
Nasr scored two goals in each half. Ahmad Al-Kheer scored Nasr's first goal from a nice shot in the 22nd minute and Ibrahim Mater converted the second goal in the 30th minute on a solo breakway.
Al-Ansar came out strongly in the second half to avert a shutout with a goal in the 48th minute by Muhammad Saleh.
Adel Al-Thagafi struck in the 75th minute with a nice header from a corner kick before goalie Muhammad Al-Khojali sealed Nasr's win with a penalty goal in the 83rd minute.
