JEDDAH, 28 February 2005 — As a challenge for power and concentration, scores of Saudi drivers and citizens gird up loins to take part in the forthcoming Red Bull 25-Hour Karting race to be held for the first time in Saudi Arabia, at the Go Kart Ring on the King’s Road here on March 24.

So many established teams in the running, and with the participation of elite drivers, the rivalry is likely to be intense when the drivers come together on the special track created for the event.

Individual drivers and teams of four drivers, representing major companies and associations, will line up on the grid alongside the leading competitors from the Kingdom at the start of Red Bull 25-Hour Karting. The race will kick-off at 4 p.m.

The event will see a non-stop endurance battle among the teams. Observed by the Commission of International Karting under the international rules and regulations of the FIA, the karting challenge will give newcomers the opportunity to test their driving skills and ability both in an endurance and racing environment. Unlike most endurance races, the event will be staged over a time of 25 hours to give added endurance value and make competitors go just that little bit further.

Dedicated marshal will monitor the drivers’ performance in order to find new talents who could be considered as future professional karting drivers.

The Red Bull 25-Hour Karting event, held in coordination with Sports Stars, is expected to attract a large number of teams especially that owning an international karting license is a must to participate in this event and this will set the competition standards very high.
