TORONTO, 21 March 2005 — Shaquille O’Neal scored 33 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to lead the Miami Heat to their 12th successive win on Saturday, a 97-82 victory over the New York Knicks.

Dwayne Wade added 30 points for the streaking Heat, winners of 15 in a row at home, as Miami swept its four-game series with New York for the first time.

The Heat have won 19 of their last 21 games and never trailed after taking the lead late in the first quarter. The Knicks closed the gap several times, but the Heat answered with runs each time before pulling away in the fourth quarter.

O’Neal and Wade became the first Miami teammates to both score 30 points in a game in 10 years. Glen Rice and Khalid Reeves accomplished the feat against Philadelphia in 1995.

Stephon Marbury led the Knicks with 23 points, but New York could get no closer than nine points in the final quarter.

In Philadelphia, Othella Harrington scored a season-high 24 points in the Chicago Bulls’ 94-88 win over the 76ers.

Ben Gordon added 22 points for the Bulls, while Kirk Hinrich had 21 points, nine assists and eight rebounds for Chicago, who snapped a four-game losing streak.

Allen Iverson led Philadelphia with 31 points.

In Washington, Gilbert Arenas scored all of his 22 points in the second half, including making two free throws with 2.2 seconds remaining, to help the Wizards beat the Utah Jazz 96-95.

Larry Hughes scored 21 points for Washington, while Andrei Kirilenko had 28 points, seven rebounds, six assists, three steals and five blocks for the Jazz.

In New Orleans, Ricky Davis scored 27 points to help Boston to their seventh successive victory, a 113-100 win over the Hornets.

Paul Pierce added 23 points for the Celtics, while Antoine Walker had 18 points and nine rebounds.

J.R. Smith led New Orleans with 21 points.

In Dallas, Dirk Nowitzki scored 33 points to lead the Mavericks to a 104-93 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats and new coach Avery Johnson a winning start. Johnson replaced Don Nelson, who resigned earlier in the day. Jason Terry added 18 points for Dallas. Keith Bogans scored 27 points for the Bobcats, who have lost 10 successive games and won just twice on the road all season.

In Portland, Grant Hill scored 23 points to lead the Orlando Magic to a 97-92 victory over the Trail Blazers.
