ALKHOBAR, 2 April 2005 — Arab News in cooperation with the Le Gulf Meridien Hotel here will once again open its cricket pavilion for fans in the Eastern Province to watch the six-match One-Day International series between India and Pakistan. Speaking to Arab News, Prashant Sharma, assistant sales and marketing director of the Meridien hotel, said that the cricket pavilion would be opened in one of the hotel’s conference room. All the matches will be shown live on the large screen with special sound effects, creating a complete stadium-like atmosphere in the pavilion. The opening match, being played in Cochin, today (April 2) will be inaugurated by the hotel’s General Manager Michel Nugent and Yahya Qutub, assistant general manager.
Sharma said that during the matches a special quiz contest will be organized and special prizes are on offer. The contest is open to all spectators. On April 17, when the final ODI is played at Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla ground, a gala function will be organized at the pavilion. Today’s match will start at 7 a.m.
