JEDDAH, 10 April 2005 — Saudi Arabia racked up the numbers in their emphatic 4-0 win against Yemen at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium here.
The victory took them to the top of Group C. Saudi Arabia controlled throughout the match with the first goal coming through Saeed Al-Wadani, who hit true from outside the penalty box.
Saudi striker Saad Al-Harthi, who came in the 27th minute of the match, scored the second from a nice cross inside the penalty box. And another sub Abdu Hakami, who was introduced in the 71st minute, notched the third goal, with Muhammad Amin sealing the Saudi win in the 88th minute. Algeria, who won earlier against Palestine 3-0, is second in the group on goal difference.
In Group D, Morocco outplayed Pakistan 2-0 at King Fahd Sports City in Taif to top the group.
In Group B, Mali and Syria played out a 0-0 draw at Prince Muhammad ibn Abdul Aziz Sports City.
