JEDDAH, 23 April 2005 — The acknowledged pioneer in the promotion of motorsport in the Kingdom, ace rally driver Abdullah Bakhashab, announced that the sponsorship for the second autocross championship has been signed with Abuljadayel Beverages Inc. The new three-round autocross event is dubbed Bison Saudi Star.
Details of the championship will be announced in a press conference to be conducted by Abdullah Bakhashab tomorrow. He will also disclose the names of other race sponsors.
Bakhashab, the organizer, expressed his happiness with the launch of motorsport championships this year after a marvelous success in 2004 contributing a lot in the development of this kind of sport in the Kingdom.
“Motorsport in the Kingdom will get a lot of care officially and individually. There is no doubt that the sponsorship of the domestic companies will affect greatly on the popularity of this sport making it equal with the other sports,” Bakhashab said.
He thanked Abuljadayel, bottlers of Bison energy drink, for their sponsorship contribution which is a big moral and financial support.
Abdullah Abuljadayel, general manager of Abuljadayel, reiterated his support of motorsport in the Kingdom and the importance of his company’s sponsorship. “We decided to be an active partner in this sport with its organizer Abdullah Bakhashab in a strategic decision supporting our marketing plans and helping make this sport more popular,” Abuljadayel said.
“We participated last year strongly as a sponsor of many motorsport championships playing a great role in their successes. This year we are happy to sponsor this autocross named Bison Saudi Star hopping that this will be the best championship of the 2005 season,” he added.
