An exhibition of paintings by an Indian artist in the Eastern Province received overwhelming response from the Saudi and expatriate communities. Called Creative Moods, the exhibition was organized at Canary Village in Alkhobar. It had 40 exquisite pieces of artwork by Rekha Sunil. They were admired by many of those who turned up at the event.
“In today’s world, the work of art is something which cannot be ignored,” said Rekha. “Art defines the creativeness of a human being, to an extent that the work of Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci are considered to be revolutionary in the field of imagination, not only in their time but also till this very day.”
Rekha has stayed in the Kingdom for many years. She also spent time in Kuwait and currently resides with her family in Dubai.
Rekha has nurtured her passion for art since childhood. She says she is deeply influenced by strokes of paint and luscious colors. She has done courses in graphic designing as well as interior designing. “Throughout my education days, I have kept my hobby and the freshness of color, patterns and reflections alive,” she said.
Rekha has explored a cocktail of medium in painting. Working on the mediums of canvas, glass, mural acrylic fabric, pot and ceramic she has expressed her keen passion for decoration through oil painting, mixed media painting, coffee painting, one stroke painting, tanjore glass painting, wall painting and modern painting.
Rekha has been living in the Middle East for 18 years, both in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait; she currently resides with her family in Dubai, UAE.
