In a thrilling finale to the IYWA Cup Football Tournament, Barca Football Club beat Angry Birds Football Club in a match that saw fortunes swinging like a bob of a pendulum.
Just when it looked like Barca had sewn up the match after racking up four of the best in quick succession, the Angry Birds lived up to their name by finding some indomitable reserve to pull the lead down to 4-2 just before half time. Barca’s cruise suddenly hit rough weather, but they were quick to regroup and storm into the match once again with two quick strikes that put paid to Angry Birds’ rally. The final score of 6-4 does not reflect the closeness of the match, but Barca’s finesse in front of the goal proved decisive on the day.
Both teams reached the finals after playing league-cum-knock -out matches over a 14-day period for the IYWA Cup at Dunk Stadium behind IKEA, Thaliya Street, Jeddah.

Five minutes after Imaad scored the first of his three goals to give Barca a 2-0 lead and two minutes later he scored again to give Barca a 3-0 lead and after five minutes Waleed made it to 4-0.
Angry Birds’ young lads, after motivation from coach Mohammed Abulia, pulled one back in the 15th minute through Mohammed and then Sami cut the lead further in the 20th minute.
The tempo of the match was maintained by Barca with a quick goal immediately after half time by Imaad who got his hat trick. A series of attacks earned Angry Birds their fourth goal and makes it to 4-5. Three minutes before final whistle Waleed Shamlan made it a tournament to remember for him and his club by scoring his second goal in the 6-4 win. Shamlan was picked as the Player of the Match.
