The German Saudi Arabian Liaison Office (AHK Saudi Arabia) held a presentation on different trade fairs scheduled in 2015 in Messes Nuremberg in Germany, here on Sunday.

Andreas Hergenroether, delegate of German industry of commerce for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Yemen, said, “We're happy to invite you to Messe Nuremberg, which showcases different products. Some 27,000 exhibitors and 1.1 million visitors are expected to attend.”

He added that the Messe Nuremberg can be of crucial importance to Saudi Arabia because of many factors like the transfer of know-how and technology.

“It goes without saying that Saudi participation in the trade fair will help bolster existing bilateral trade between Saudi Arabia and Germany,” Hergenroether added.

In 2013, he said, the German economy was the third most important supplier of Saudi Arabia, behind the United States and China.

“In fact, Saudi Arabia imported in 2013 goods and services of almost 10 billion euro from Germany, up 13 percent from the previous year,” he said.

He added that this shows an excellent reputation German products and services have in the Kingdom and that German firms are known for high quality products, active transfer of know-how and fair business.

Hergenroether added: “There's still a huge potential for business between the two countries in the future.”

Thomas Schlitt, Messe Nuremberg director for international sales and business development, expressed optimism regarding the result of his visit to the Kingdom.

He said he was hoping that the number of exhibitors in the trade fairs would touch 27,000 (39 percent of international figure) and up to 1.13 million visitors.

He noted that this year, a high ranking delegation from Saudi Arabia headed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Saudi Organic Farming Association (SOFA) visited BIOFACH, the world's largest trade fair for organic food and agriculture, which is held annually in February.

“We are confident to have more successful participation from Saudi Arabia in 2015,” he said. With him was Julia Holzinger, Messe Nuremberg's international sales and business development manager for Turkey, Middle East and Africa.

Messe Nuremberg also organizes the world's major trade fair for air-conditioning and refrigeration called Chillventa.

“As energy efficiency and sustainability remain important factors of Saudi industry, this event is a great opportunity to view the whole variety of products and services from the industry's broad-based spectrum of air-conditioning, ventilation and heat pumps,” he said.

The portfolio of Messe Nuremberg, represented by AHK Saudi Arabia in the Kingdom, covers around 120 national and international exhibitions and congresses.

It has a network of approximately 50 representatives operating in more than 110 countries. With 20 exhibitions worldwide, it is a permanent player in the international exhibition market.
