Charitable organizations “Arbtat-Jeddah” and “With Us Hand to Hand” organized a theater and fun-day for orphans and children of Arbtat housing at Serafi Mega Mall on Thursday.
Bashair Abdul Razak Ba-Fart, Arbtat-Jeddah co-founder, said the main aim of organizing this trip for children was to bring them close to other children while enjoying rides as well as comedy theater of Al-Majd Channel and the group of Selah Al-Jahni.
“Our organization is a voluntary, non-profitable one founded in 2009 by Nujood Abdul Razak to help residents and orphans living in Jeddah, especially in Arbtat housing provided by the government. Our mission is to improve their living conditions with the help of society,” said Bashair.
She further explained that they want to facilitate the needy people with medicines, old clothes, toys, household items, and any other stuff anyone wants to donate.
“We also want to involve the less fortunate and orphans in the community. Therefore, we always try to arrange programs for them, such as fun trips. At the same time, our mission is to involve the youth in voluntary work, spread awareness, and love and care for such people and children. We want society to join hands with us to help the less fortunate,” she explained.
According to the data collection of Arbtat-Jeddah, there are almost 60 buildings at different locations in Jeddah in which poor people and orphans are living. “So far, we have data of 11 buildings that we are helping, but we are trying to help all others as well. Today, we arranged a fun trip for the children, so they can enjoy themselves,” Bashair said.
More than 80 children had fun at Serafi Mega Mall. To support this cause, a number of dignitaries and senior persons of society were present on the occasion.
Talal Samarkandi, chairman of the engineering committee at Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), appreciated the efforts of Arbtat-Jeddah and With Us Hand to Hand. He assured his help in maintaining the Arbtat buildings to a satisfactory level from the engineering point of view. “The doors of the training committee at JCCI are always open to organize data with geometric statistics on the Internet that everybody can view in order to help the people according to their needs. Other than this, we have a Facebook page called ‘Wishing well’ with already 2,000 members, so anybody who has any requirement and needs support can appeal for something on this page, and we will help,” said Samarkandi.
Mohammed Ahmed, an 8-year-old boy, said he was very fond of Arbtat-Jeddah, as the charity always helps him and takes him for outings he enjoys with his friends.
