Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors (MYNM), the authorized dealer of Jaguar Land Rover in Saudi Arabia, recently welcomed UK’s Secretary of State for Transport Chris Grayling, British Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Simon Collis, and British Consul General Barrie Peach, at its Jeddah showroom.
The visit featured an extensive discussion about the role that Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors can play in supporting women’s empowerment — a key component of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. The company highlighted its support for the upcoming introduction of women driving, and its commitment to helping empower women both behind the wheel and in other aspects of their lives.
Grayling said: “Following the crown prince’s recent visit to the UK, which was a positive step in strengthening relations between our two nations, we are very eager to support his Vision 2030 in any way that we can. While our two countries’ transport ministries already boast strong ties, I look forward to further enhancing the level of cooperation between us.
“Furthermore, I would like to thank Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors for welcoming us here today. I strongly believe that they can play a key role in enhancing this partnership especially that Jaguar Land Rover vehicles are described as one of the top luxury brands in the market.”
Managing Director of Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors, Jaguar Land Rover, Andre Bonthuy said: “As our country continues to pursue wide-reaching economic diversification and social advancements, including the introduction of women driving permits, Saudi Arabia is poised to be one of the most important markets for Jaguar Land Rover, with unprecedented potential for growth.”
Aseel Alhamad, a board member of the Saudi Arabian Motor Federation in charge of the women’s motorsports program and a member of the International Automobile Federation, said: “Securing the right to drive will enhance job opportunities for Saudi women in the labor market.”
