Have you ever looked up at the sky and noticed how clouds keep changing endlessly — from one shape to another, and another, and another … and finally dissolve into nothing? Another perfect metaphor for life!
Cloud-watching has been a favorite hobby of mine since childhood. Even now, whenever I have the opportunity, I love to look at the clouds while they are changing shapes. I recently saw the sky filled up with a “flock” of sheep-shaped small fluffy clouds and, as usual, I was fascinated by how they resembled the real “stuff”. I could detect tiny lambs, big rams, regular sheep, a dog … fascinating! Then, they slowly started transforming themselves into something else. They became birds, cars, people’s faces… Such simple pastime is not idle. It makes me think, in fact, about our whole existence which, just like the clouds, keeps changing moment by moment into something else, according to our thoughts, deeds, decisions and choices. The Universe, itself, is never the same. Stars are born, grow, evolve, explode, give birth to other celestial bodies… A never-ending transformation that follows a precise cycle and to which nothing can subtract itself. When we accept this necessary transformation, that takes place according to the nature of all things, life proceeds well. When we oppose it, things do not go so well.
This kind of pseudo-philosophical wondering is typical of my mind and I totally enjoy it. The “problem” (but is it really a problem?) arises when my mind does not stop here and keeps on wandering here and there till it overcomes the boundaries of the topic on the table and goes beyond, far away, to uncharted paths. Now, for example. I find my thoughts switching from fluffy clouds to … mysterious UFOs!! Any connection? I don’t really know. The fact is that observing the sky reminds me of the hundreds of books and articles I have read, of the hundreds of programs I have watched and lectures I have listened to on such fascinating subject. Are UFOs real? They may. It seems that, since the 1947 Roswell (New Mexico) happenings, millions of sightings have taken place so far. Millions of witnesses all around the world swear they have experienced extraterrestrials’ presence on Earth in many different ways such as simple sightings, or actual encounters “of the third kind” (Remember Steven Spielberg’s hit movie?), and even physical abductions.
Many claim that world’s governments have organized a huge cover-up in order to make such announcements sound unreal, ridiculous, fake. Mankind, they appear to say, is not ready yet to accept the idea that we are not alone in the Universe and that other beings might be contacting us from outer space. But, recently, I happened to read about the whole UFO thing having been created by the same governments in order to prepare the gullible Earthlings to accept the possibility of an alien (fake) invasion, in which case a general psychosis will erupt and allow a Big Brother kind of new order seize power. WOW! This is really something to think about, isn’t it? Isn’t your mind going to blow up with all these possibilities at hand? Friendly Aliens ready to offer us a helping hand in our time of distress? Dangerous Aliens willing to conquer our beautiful planet? It’s all an imaginary Science Fiction tale? Is it an Illuminati conspiracy to mold the human minds by instilling into them a puppet-like acceptance of the New World Order that is being carefully prepared for our near future?
I honestly do not know which hypothesis is real and which is not. I also wonder if the “truth” may be something totally different, something no one has thought about yet. Or is such “truth” a pure personal thing, so that everyone is satisfied with what they think to be the most logical, possible, reassuring one for themselves? What is “your” opinion? Not interested in finding out? Don’t worry, it’s not a big deal. Life still goes on.
