Deccan Knights will take on Kanoo Travel in the final of the Premier Division Cricket league sponsored by Ace Travel Group and organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association.
In the first semifinal, Deccan routed Ace Travel by 229 runs, thanks to centuries by Najeeb and Athar while later Kanoo Travel got the better of of their sister concern Kanoo by three wickets.
Deccan Knights batting first amassed 374 runs off 30 overs for the loss of only one wicket. Afroz scored 23 of only 8 balls including 4 fours and a six and after he departed. It was all Najeeb and Athar show with both remaining unbeaten till the end with a record partnership of 349 runs for the second wicket. Such was their dominance that none of the Ace bowlers could neither contain them nor dismiss them. Najeeb scored 170 runs of 93 balls with 17 fours and 7 sixes whereas Athar scored 168 runs of only 76 deliveries with 16 boundaries and 9 huge sixes.
All bowlers suffered at the hands of the batsmen who were in devastating mood. Kamran claimed the sole wicket, which fell giving away 48 runs. After being humiliated in the field Ace Travel folded for a paltry 149 runs. Wajid scored 35 with 6 fours and a six Sadat 42 of 23 balls including 3 fours and four sixes. Abu Jabri claimed 3 scalps for 55 runs Sohail, Athar and Inayath claimed one wicket each to give their team a huge win.
In the other match, Kanoo batted first but could manage only 158 runs. Najam scored 27 off 18 balls including 6 fours. Moid got 23 but it was the solo effort of skipper Majid Siddiqui who scored a watchful innings of 40 but could not get support from anyone else as Kanoo were bowled out for 158.
Akbar, Haroon and Urooj had 3 wickets each for 18, 19 and 41 runs respectively, Kanoo Travel skipper Akbar with his new ball had early strike on Kanoo top cream of batting line up with 3-18 was the plus point for the Travel men.
In reply Kanoo Travel openers Mazhar and Urooj scored 74 runs for the opening partnership Mazhar made 27 0f 29 balls and Urooj 27 of 30 balls. Later Asghar chipped in with 23 and Parvez 39 of 35 balls. Kanoo Travel reached their target of 159 for the loss of 3 wickets with 7 overs to spare. Moid, Majid Sheikh and Sami had wicket each.
