JEDDAH: The Health Ministry has fired the director of King Fahd Hospital in Jeddah after a video clip showing cockroaches inside its convalescence center went viral.

He also warned that all hospitals must make sure that their facilities are clean to avoid heavy penalties.
In a related development, Al-Falih promised to investigate a video showing an official of the Najran health department expelling a woman from his office with angry comments. Several Twitter users have launched a hashtag condemning the man’s actions.
The department confirmed that a woman who works as a technician had requested a transfer to Tabuk. The director had met with the woman and her mother, listened to her request and explained that she has to apply for a transfer online.
In a statement, the department claimed the woman’s mother had caused a disturbance at the office by talking loudly and insisting on getting her daughter’s request approved.
“The woman and her daughter had wasted the time of others who waiting to have their cases reviewed. Therefore the director was forced to expel them from his office. Officials of the health department had recorded the incident,” the statement added.
The statement said the department was open to review all cases, and the director was committed to serving citizens in line with health regulations.
