MAKKAH: The Kingdom’s Unified Hajj Media Operations Center held its first press briefing for the Hajj season.
Center Chairman Saleh Al-Thubaiti said this year’s Hajj season is being covered by more than 150 media outlets with over 3,000 media professionals.
The center has produced more than 6,400 media materials in multiple languages, generating over 100,000 international media items with 11 billion views, he added.
Ministry of Hajj and Umrah spokesperson Ghassan Al-Nuaimi said last year’s pilgrim satisfaction index reached 91 percent, forming the baseline for this year’s preparations.
More than 111,000 personnel are serving pilgrims, supported by over 83,000 field inspection tours, he added.
Al-Nuaimi said the ministry emphasized that it is mandatory to carry the Nusuk card and remain in camps on the Day of Arafah from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture spokesperson Saleh Bindakhil confirmed the full readiness of the environment, water, and agriculture system, with more than 5,000 qualified personnel deployed.
The National Water Co. is pumping water through networks exceeding 5,700 km and conducting more than 4,000 daily laboratory tests.
The National Center for Waste Management is transporting 10,000 tonnes of waste and recycling more than 25,000 cubic meters.
