The Labor Ministry announced yesterday that it has started accepting applications to recruit Filipino maids following an agreement between the Kingdom and the Philippines.
“We have reached a final agreement with the Philippines on the recruitment of housemaids. We will restart issuance of visas on the basis of this agreement,” said Deputy Labor Minister Mufrej Al-Haqabani.
The new agreement contains 19 clauses to safeguard the interests of both the sponsor and worker. The contract does not specify the monthly salary as the matter has been left to the parties in line with the existing regulations in the two countries.
