Theatro Lounge is one of Jeddah’s best known cafes, where flavor meets art in a unique, harmonious fashion. Located in the main atrium of the popular shopping center, Theatro Mall in Tahlia Street, the lounge is topped with a dome that gives natural light and glow not just to the restaurant premises, but also to the entire mall. The walls and arches adorned with artistic paintings and sculptures take you back to the old ages of Greek mythology. The restaurant is an open art gallery for Jeddah's art aficionados. The decor of the lounge changes every month, with new paintings replacing the old ones. Leather chairs and velvet sofas are placed in the center of the restaurant.
Also, in the center sits a tempting spinning chocolate fountain, which can be enjoyed with bite-size cakes, fruits and marshmallows, placed on its side.
The ambience of the lounge has a relaxing effect on the mind as soft classical music plays in the background while diners enjoy their meal.
The menu offers good variety in salads, sandwiches and deserts. One salad portion is good enough for two and great for sharing. We recommend the Chicken Pasta Salad comprising marinated chicken, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, black olive, fresh mushroom, corn, fusili pasta and topped with parmesan cheese and lemon mustard dressing.
The Greek Salad consists of iceberg lettuce, green pepper, black olives, and cherry tomato, oregano, fetta cheese and is served with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and lemon mustard dressing. Another good option is the Rocca Salad, which is made with fresh rocca, parmesan cheese, fresh mushroom and balsamic and virgin olive oil dressing.
For sandwiches, the Chicken Salad is a delicious choice comprising marinated chicken, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, lettuce and thousand island sauce placed in a grilled panini bread and served with potato chips. The Smoked Turkey sandwich is also a hit, especially for those who enjoy cold cuts. Smoke turkey slices, cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce and mayonnaise is placed in a grilled panini bread and served with potato chips.
For vegetarians, the Trio Cheese Sandwich is a smart choice. It contains feta cheese, cheddar cheese, haloumi cheese, cucumber, black olive and thyme.
Sweet and savory crepes are available in a range of flavors; the more popular savory ones include the cheese and oregano crepe and the cheese with smoked turkey oregano and tomato crepe. Chocolate crepe served with a selection of fruits is highly recommended, as is the sugar and cinnamon crepe.
The lounge also offers a selection of croissants, such as plain, zaatar, cheese, and chocolate. Their turkey croissant sandwich is lip-smacking and consists of a mozzarella slice, tomato, lettuce and mayo.
For desserts, the chocolate fountain along with chunks of fruits, cakes and cookies makes for a wonderful ending to a meal well-enjoyed.
