JEDDAH: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance has undertaken SR 331 million in construction, maintenance, repair, cleaning and operations at the holy sites of Meena, Arafat and Muzdalifah, and the meeqat.
Abdullah Al-Howaimil, undersecretary for administrative and technical affairs at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, said project completion dates would range from two months to three years.
The maintenance, repair, cleaning and operation projects include the Namirah Mosque and its courtyards in Arafat at a cost of SR 4.6 million, the Holy Site Mosque and the Hujjaj Al-Barr Mosque at a cost of SR 20.96 million. The maintenance and operation of the ministry’s head office and pilgrim facilities at Arafat will cost SR 1.5 million while the maintenance, cleaning and operation of the Al-Khaif Mosque at Mina will cost SR 149,500.
The projects include the repairs and maintenance of the emergency exits of the Holy Sites mosque, renovation of the ministry’s headquarters at Muzdalifah and the passages of entry and exit to Muzdalifah.
The repairs, maintenance and new constructions at Qarn Al-Manazil in Al-Sail Al-Kabeer near Taif will cost SR 31.13 million and Meeqat Al-Juhfah in Rabigh SR 10.27 million. Yalamlam will be renovated and maintained at a cost of SR 21 million.
Development works will include car parks for pilgrims. Maintenance and construction of the car parks will cost SR 7.5 million.
