The Indian Engineers Forum (IEF) celebrated its annual event by holding a seminar on value engineering. Indian Ambassador Hamid Ali Rao was the chief guest.
Rao said bilateral relations had reached new heights with the visit of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to India in 2006 and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit to Saudi Arabia in 2010. He said conditions were now ripe for Indian businessmen, technocrats and professionals to take these relations to the next level by networking and promoting business ties between the two countries.
He encouraged the Indian Engineers Forum to organize social activities. He said engineers were always among the group of problem solvers and solution providers. The ambassador advised the IEF to further strengthen relations with Saudi engineers as well as to network with engineers in India to benefit from the enormous potentials in both countries.
IEF President Mohammad Sayeeduddin welcomed the dignitaries and members to the event, among others Consul General Faiz Ahmed Kidwai and Consul Pranav Ganesh.
Consul General Kidwai, in his speech, said that a Saudi-Indian Business Network (SIBN) had been formed to promote networking among Indian and Saudi businessmen. He invited Indian engineers to work with SIBN and contribute using the knowledge of the industries and market of Saudi Arabia.
IEF President Sayeeduddin said the Indian Engineers Forum, Jeddah chapter, had grown into a strong body of more than 300 members who are currently serving in different organizations and industries in the Western region. He advised engineers to be innovative and competitive to be successful in the profession and simultaneously promote the country.
A technical presentation was delivered by Abdul Aziz Ali Yousufi, president of Al-Yousufi Value Engineering (YVE), on the topic of value engineering, and he advised engineers working in the Kingdom to adopt the technique of value engineering.
