Indian schools shine in Class X exam

A number of international Indian schools in the Kingdom did exceptionally well in the Class X examination conducted by the New Delhi-based Central Board of Secondary Education in March this year. The results were declared on Thursday.
The most impressive performance was by the International Indian School in Dammam (IISD) where 821 students appeared for the exam. Of them, a record number of 120 students secured A1 grades and 10 grade points in all the five subjects; 51 students secured 9.8 grade points; 37 students 9.6; 41 students 9.4; 34 students 9.2 and 36 students 9 grade points.
According to Principal E.K. Mohammed Shaffe, of the 821 students, 610 appeared for the school-based exam while 211 opted for the board-based exam.
“This is the 13th consecutive year of our school dishing out such an outstanding performance,” he told Arab News. “Naturally, there is jubilation among the teachers, parents and the students.”
Chairman Thiru K.M. and other members of the managing committee joined the principal in congratulating all the meritorious students and their parents for the notable achievement. They particularly appreciated the good work put in by the teachers and other members of the school.
At the International Indian School-Jubail (IISJubail), there were similar celebrations. The school, under Chairman Dr. Ahmad Khan and Principal Dr. Syed Hameed, continued its onward march to excellence by producing another spectacular performance.
In all, 233 students (115 boys and 118 girls) appeared for the exam at the Jubail school. Of them, 49 registered outstanding performance with an aggregate of 100 percent in all the subjects i.e. cumulative grade point average (CGPA) 10 out of 10.
“There has been a marked improvement in the performance of all the students, and I owe this success to the sincere efforts of our hard-working teachers, constant guidance and motivation of our managing committee, and invaluable cooperation of the parents,” acknowledged Principal Hameed.
Chairman Ahmad Khan and other members of the managing committee were ecstatic and congratulated the students for maintaining a very high standard and appreciated the school’s teaching faculty for the excellent results.
One of the prestigious schools in the Eastern Province is Dammam’s Al-Khozama International School. Under Principal Sreedevi Menon, it has carved a niche for itself by producing consistently good results. This time too the school produced 100 percent results. A total of 29 Al-Khozama students appeared for the board exam. Of them, three students (Lucas George Thadathil, Jean Merene Johnson and Pooja Balabhadrapatruni) secured A1 grades and 10 grade points (CGPA) in all the five subjects; 13 secured 9 points and above; 10 secured 8 points and above, and 3 secured 7 points and above.
Principal Menon credited the teachers, students and the parents for the excellent performance. “It is a team work,” she told Arab News.
There was jubilation at the International Indian School-Buraidah (IISB). All its students not merely cleared the exam but came out with flying colors. This is the 11th consecutive year that the school has produced such a stellar performance. Forty-four IISB students appeared for the exam. Of them, six students (Akanksha Bharti, Fauziyah Mohammad, Mishah Zofi, Aswin George, Azhar Hassan and Ibrahim Zafarullah) scored 10 out of 10 CGPA. Seven students scored 9 and above; six students 8 and above; nine students 7 and above; seven students 6 and above; eight students 5 and above, and one student 4 and above CGPA.
Principal Nasreen Syed and managing committee members expressed their happiness at the good results and credited the outstanding performance to the dedication and hard work of the staff. “We promise to maintain the high success rate in the coming years,” said the IISB principal.
