RIYADH: The Second Petrochemicals Forum organized by the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and the University of Oxford will take place from Sept. 9 to 12 at KACST in Riyadh.
The forum features the latest developments in the petrochemical field and highlights research, innovation and creativity in the oil refining process as well as sustainable technologies in the industry.
The forum will provide an opportunity for experts to share the latest research, knowledge and best practices. It will focus on research activities and the latest studies involving petrochemicals, petroleum refining and related fields of technology critical to Saudi Arabia’s economy now and in the future.
Attendees will include professionals from the petrochemical industry, policy-makers and scientists from the Ministries of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Transportation and Trade and Industry, as well as representatives from Saudi Aramco, SABIC and the Saudi Council of Chambers.
The KACST and University of Oxford collaboration or KACST/Oxford Petrochemicals Research Center (KOPRC) projects concentrate on materials development for clean fuel consumption, selective polymerization and developing catalysts to convert carbon dioxide into chemicals and other developmental processes.
This joint scientific cooperation is the first in the area of refining and petrochemicals in the Arab world and fits within the framework of KACST's strategic plan to localize petrochemical technology in the Kingdom.
