JEDDAH: The Central Committee of KMCC, a cultural organization of Indian expatriates, organized a blood donation campaign on Sunday to mark the Kingdom’s National Day.
“We organized this program to express our solidarity with Saudi Arabia on this great occasion,” said EP Ubaidulla, secretary of the central committee.
KMCC volunteers donated blood at King Fahd Hospital in Jeddah. Dr. Salim Basalamah, the director of the hospital who inaugurated the program, commended KMCC for its good work.
A substantial number of KMCC volunteers had turned up to donate blood at the hospital from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. “We will continue to donate blood on the next four Fridays,” said Ubaidulla.
The function was attended by Dr. Maha Shehata, blood bank director, and other senior officials, as well as KMCC leaders such as Ahmed Palayatt, central committee president, Abubacker Arimbra, general secretary, P.T. Muhammad and Aziz Chelari, vice presidents of the National Committee.
