Mostafa Hamadeh’s Kudu boys coached by Orly Casimero took the headstart in their best-of-three series for the Non-Rated Inter-Company championship against challenger newcomer Nadec with an 85-69 victory in the 19th Seasons Basketball Fever in Riyadh 2013 basketball tournament at the Sheraton Riyadh Hotel & Towers rubberized court.
Rookie Ralph Piodos was bench warmer in the first quarter and was only fielded in the dying seconds of the second quarter that ended 36 all. On the ensuing plays, Piodos showed his worth and scored 14 points while Bernard Fabila grabbed scoring honors for Kudu with 17 points. Bhutu Orlina added 15 points and Fundador Aguinaldo 11.
Nadec boys coached by Ronaldo Jocson have Kim Tiong, Raymond Acosta and Jerole Claveria with Joel Tarin played their best all game long to no avail as Kudu’s big man Fabila took charge of the game en route to victory.
In the knockout match for third and fourth, Rizaldy Datu’s Al Hokair despite dressing only six players for the game gave Matagbak Controllers a good fight in an exciting contest marked by five deadlocks in the first half.
And Matagbak Controllers finally succumbed to the might of the six-man team of Al Hokair led by Michael Calma with his topsoring 31 points. The scoreline was 92-878. Emerson Rosal, Norman Canas, JR Cava, Ronnel Beldad and Ryan Villagas completed the Hokair lineup.
