Police arrested on Saturday a man who killed his friend in Saleela town in Al-Ais region. The man shot his 18-year-old friend down by using a gun. Earlier, the young man was found lying in a pool of blood after sustaining bullet wounds near Madinah road.
Soon after receiving information, police rushed to the scene and found that the young man was dead after being hit by a bullet in his chest. Police started a manhunt and subsequently the culprit was arrested within 12 hours after committing the crime.
In an unrelated development, a Saudi man was beheaded by the sword yesterday after being convicted of drug trafficking, the Interior Ministry said.
Ahmed bin Ali Hamdi had been arrested after taking delivery of a large quantity of hashish, the ministry said in a statement carried by SPA.
