Marafiq, the power and water utility company for Jubail and Yanbu, has chosen Al-Latifia Trading and Contracting Company for the construction of secondary infrastructure and 249 residential units for its staff in Jubail’s Jalmuda district.
Marafiq President and CEO Thamer S. Al-Sharhan and Al-Latifia Assistant CEO Mussab Hussain Al-Khudairi signed the contract recently in the presence of Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thunayan Al-Saud, chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu and also Marafiq.
Work will commence in two months, and the project is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2015.
Al-Latifia will be responsible for the development of the site and construction of the housing units.
The proposed housing units come under Marafiq’s Home Ownership Program (HOP), which is a major incentive offered by the company to retain its Saudi work force and to attract qualified local talent.
Al-Latifia’s MD Hussain Al-Khudairi and CEO Ihsan M. Ali expressed their happiness over having Marafiq on their list of elite clients.
Al-Latifia counts Saudi Aramco, General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) and other ministries among their important clients.
Al-Latifia Assistant Chief Operating Officer Shariq Jamal Shamsi, who is responsible for the company’s operations in Eastern and Western Regions, described the contract as significant.
“It is a matter of pride for Al-Latifia to be associated with Marafiq,” he said.
“In line with our longstanding tradition, Al-Latifia is committed to completing this project to the best satisfaction of its client and end-users.”
Al-Latifia Trading and Contracting Company, founded in 1987, provides engineering, procurement and building construction services to clients in a variety of industry sectors.
