Media sector tumbles over 3.4%

The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) fell to 7,056.53 points yesterday, showing a further reduction of 15 points or 0.2 percent for the entire day.
The index slipped into red territory earlier yesterday and plunged to a maximum of 44 points during the day.
On year-to-date basis, it showed a yield of 3.7 percent.
The market cap indices closed the day in mixed territories.
Again sectoral performance remained almost balanced with seven sectors moving upward and accumulating nearly 244 points.
Hotel & Tourism showing notable gains of 184 points or 1.9 percent became the top performer among sectoral indices, closing at 9,630.30.
On the other negative side, eight sectors ended lower, dropping an aggregate of 283 points. Media and Publishing sector came out as the biggest decliner, tumbling more than 3.4 percent and trimming back the 3,000-mark.
Most of heavy weights closed lower from previous day’s levels, with Kingdom holding decreasing by 0.95 percent, Saudi Arabian Fertilizers Co. (SAFCO) 0.65 percent and SABB 0.59 percent.
Only Saudi Electricity Co. (SECO) showed a positive change, advancing 0.71 percent for the session.
Market breadth was slightly negative, whereby 63 symbols closed in green and 67 closed in red, while 26 remained unchanged.
Share price of Arabia Insurance Cooperative Co. rallied to a maximum growth of 10 percent to SR 31.9, clinching the spot as top gainer amongst Saudi stocks.
Gulf General Insurance was another significant advancer, surging by 8.6 percent.
Tadawul volume with trades over 192.7 million shares remained 3.4 percent greater than previous level but still it was eight percent lower than 50-day average.
