Nasser Al Hajri completed a Team of the Week and men’s Bowler of the Week double entering the homestretch of eliminations on the 17th week in the FTBJ-ICBL 29th Conference bowling tournament at Jeddah Lanes in Mossadia Plaza here.
Al Hajri bowlers never won a single game but were consistent enough to post the top tally of 49 points at the end of the race that saw different winners in each of the four phases of the contest.
Muchkilla was four points adrift in second place with 45 points followed by Hidada Contracting Ltd. 40.5 points, Saudi Diyar Consultants 37, Sky Freight TFC 34 and Al Bahjah Optical 33.
Almarai Co. pooled 32.5 points with Lance & 3RDY, the previous week honoree, coming up flat this time on 27 points.
Sadia, still searching for a Team of the Week win, compiled 26 points in 10th position. Symmetry-Genesis made 22 points and the last three teams were Geely Cars 20, Safawa Tech-Build 20 and D’ Barkads 6. To Pinky Acato of Hidada went the ladies Bowler of the Week accolade at a series of 591.
Randy Mata rolled the high series of 693 on lines of 203, 235 and 255 in a superb display that earned him men’s Bowler fo the Week honors while leading Nasser Al Hajri.
Bonnie Garcia supported Mata with 624 while the ladies duo of Len-len Berina and Merlen Pamintuan carded 565 and 499. Sharing the remaining three games out of the total of 15 were Cris Villavelez 225-212 and Jeff San Pedro 195.
The double honors left Nasser knocking at the third place door in this five-man team Friday afternoon league event.
Muchkilla has work to do in its bid to cross the upper half of the team standings and its second-place finish on the day certainly helped. At the vanguard of the convincing Muchkilla performance were Rey Beltran, who fired 642 to go with the 587 by Charrie Guzman and 570 by Jessica Fuentes.
Also counting toward the team total were two games each from Jess Pineda 198-190, Jun Palacios190-190 and Efren San Pedro 187-201.
Hidada Contracting, in second place in the team standings and with high hopes of mounting another title run, had solid rounds of 675 and 586 from Amro Al-Amri and Romy Bunagan in addition to Acato’s 591.
Grace Siasoco tallied 515 while Rene Martinez contributed 190-163 and Nanding Siasoco 177.
For Saudi Diyar the top scorers were Nap Patayan 647, Raul Delos Reyes 635 and Nestor Casalme 603. Cora Agas added 513 and Fatima Jintarat had 509.
Goying Salazar drilled 570 to lead Sky Freight, which also netted 549 from Babes Tiongson and 527 from Grace Dasas.
