Jeddah: Arab News
The shooting touch of Jholly Poliquit, Binas’s daredevil moves and Banag’s intensity brought Sadafco to a 79-72 victory over Sleep High while Zorilla’s presence in the paint and Dangao’s smooth offense and playmaking helped Mountain Dew hurdle Almarai 84-59 at the weekend in 2012 Perfetto Basketball Tournament organized by Industrial Sports Association at Industrial City Dawah Office (ICDO) court in Industrial City Phase I on the outskirts of Jeddah.
In an Inter-Company Group A match, Poliquit, eventually named Best Player of the game, tossed in 22 points to lead Sadafco.
Monteza single handedly boosted Sleep High to score 7 of his team’s 17 points in the first quarter. But Binas and Banag were unstoppable while the others helped out on defense giving Sadafco a 40-30 lead at the half as only Cudal and Delio managed to score for Sleep High.
Sadafco nursed a two-point lead at the end of the third period and Poliquit rampaged again in the fourth quarter, where he scored 12 points, to leave Sleep High on the back foot.
In Inter Company Group C, Zorilla threw his weight around in the shaded, scoring 31 points while Dangao added 29 points for Mountain Dew which effectively shut down the running game of Almarai to prevail.
No more than seven points separated both teams in the first two quarters but the third quarter had Dangao and Zorilla scoring almost at will to end the period 65-51 to Mountain Dew, which tallied 19 points in the fourth quarter while limiting Almarai to measly 8 to complete the rout.
In another Inter-Company Group C match, Best Player Mogada scored 16 points, Magadia added 13 and Gervacio had 11 and Saudi Glass defeated Ariola’s ACMC 53-50.
In Inter-Company Group B, Hernandez, named best player of the game, had 23 points to power Sesab past Finetool 68-64.
In Inter-Company A matched, Best Player Imuan tallied 27 points while Aspa, Samson and Morales combined for 40 in Wasalak’s 83-80 victory over Supreme Foods.
In Inter-Company D, Paul Suba finally chased down a Best Player award with 21 points at the helm of Grain Silos I’s 67-53 triumph over Al-Amoudi.
