The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has asked all shops to display prices of goods in order to ensure transparency in their dealings with consumers.
It warned that violators of the law would be fined up to SR 100,000.
“All supermarkets, shops and sales outlets should display price tags along with goods from April 11 (Jamad Al-Thani 1),” the ministry said, adding that its officials would tour markets to track down violators to punish them.
The price should be written in Arabic, the ministry said and urged the public to inform it about violators by dialing 8001241616.
