ENGLAND: Britain’s Duchess Catherine braved the snow to volunteer with the scouts on Friday. The 31-year-old royal — who is currently expecting her first child with husband Prince William — donned her coat and wellies in the Lake District, North West England, as she and other adult volunteers to help Cub Scouts cook, climb and learn camping survival skills.
Catherine got stuck in and at one point she rolled the dough of flour, water, sugar and oil before twisting it round a stick to make a ‘Twist for cooking.
After toasting it on the fire, Catherine tried some and said: “Oh it’s actually not bad. If you were desperately hungry. It’s quite sugary.” Assistant Director of the Scouts Simon Carter said of Catherine’s visit: “We hope the duchess will encourage other volunteers.
