U&M HVAC Strikers, Versatil Guyz rule 7th KAMC Bowling Friendship Games

King Abdulaziz Medical City once again organized the much-anticipated KAMC Bowling Friendship Games. Now on its 7th edition, the games attracted 400 players from different organizations around Jeddah.
The event started with the traditional parade of 31 participating teams followed by the opening remarks by KAMC-ESC Acting Supervisor and Activity In-Charge Ahmad Luangco. He welcomed the participants, guests and sponsors and attributed to them the resounding success of the event.
Consul General Uriel Norman Garibay of the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah was the chief guest. He made the ceremonial roll of the ball to signal the start of the event after delivering inspirational speech.
At the end of the games, the top 10 teams for both inhouse and guest categories were awarded prizes.
In the Inhouse category, the U&M HVAC Strikers quintet of Alfie Roberto, Ariel Manalastas, Robert Gonzalez, Roland Sanchez and Romy Camacho edged out Tsinoyz Team A in a neck-and-neck battle for the championship. U&M HVAC Strikers rolled an aggregate score of 2304.3 points to seal the win. Tsinoyz Team A settled for the second place with 2303.4 points. In third place was The Incredibowls team with 2301.3 points. Renal Strykers, which led in the first two games, settled for fourth with 2300.4 points. Completing the top five was PHC Mix Bowlers with 2295.4 points. Simba OR (2291.1), I-Payroll (2289.9), Task Force Bowlers (2287.5), IPCD & Co. (2274.5) and Scalpel Love (2270.2) occupied the sixth to 10th spots in that order.
Meanwhile, in the Guest category, Versatil Guyz of Danny Francisco, Gary Reconday, Joel and Voi Ycong played brilliant bowling en route to a very convincing finish. The quartet ended the games with a total of 2122.2 points to emerge champion. D’Knockers Team-2 came in distant second with 2080 points followed by Toya-KAMC team which checked in at third with 2068 points. OFBC grabbed fourth place with 2053.4 points while D’Knockers Team-1 snatched fifth place with 2037.8 points.
Finishing sixth to 10th place, respectively, were KFSH-2 (2037.20), Tropang Gising (2035), Fineboyz (2029.8), King Faisal Specialist Hospital Team 1 (2023.60) and last edition’s champion, Zuhair Fayez (2021.80).
Individual honors were also awarded to players who got the highest scratch scores. Enrico Dungo of i-Payroll bowled 163 pinfalls to win the award in the Inhouse category while Voi Ycong of Versatil Guyz won in the Guest category with 212 pinfalls. In the distaff side, Mary Gail Mata of i-Payroll led the Inhouse category with 164 pinfalls while Fedelyn Bustinera of OFBC did the same in the Guest category with 162 pinfalls.
Also, special awards were handed out given during the event. The Best in Uniform award was presented to Butz & Guts (Inhouse) and OFBC (Guest). The Best Team Representative went to Sheila May Luz of Tsinoyz Team B (Inhouse) and Josephine Salvador of TOYA/KAMC (Guest) while the Best Mascot went to Sheila Marie Argarin (Inhouse). Scalpel Love (Inhouse) and OFWCC (Guest) were adjudged Best Organized Teams.
Maricel Saludes took home the grand raffle draw prize of 32-inch Toshiba LCD TV courtesy of the sponsors namely Orient Provision and Trading Company Limited (Makati Foods) through Abdulmoshen Al Ghamdi, general manager, and Robert Stone, brand manager; Pinehill Arabia Food Limited (Toya) through Tayyab Ali, marketing officer; Arabian Stores Co. (Sarawat Superstores) through Mohammed Omar Bamusa Alamoudi; Jollibee-Nesma Corporation through Billy Junn Tabares, marketing executive; Radisson Blu Hotel through Rifat Harrroun, financial controller, and Fadi Mheisen, Room Division manager; and Psalmstre Enterprises/ Creworks Asia — Jeddah through Jaime Acosta. The organizers led by Al Bacleon and Luangco extended their gratitude to Brig. Gen. Khalid Bakulka, executive director for Operations, KAMC Western Region, and Mohammed Al Aamry, director of KAMC Employee Social Club for their unwavering support of the event.
