Google Student Ambassadors (GSAs) in the Female Center for Scientific and Medical Colleges of King Saud University (KSU) in Al-Malz recently held a forum titled “Women in Technology” in collaboration with Student Partnership, at the university's theater.
The Google Student Ambassador Program is an opportunity for students to act as liaisons between Google and their universities. These ambassadors learn about innovative Google products and programs, plan and host events on campus, act as a campus contact for Google teams and help Google better understand each university’s culture. GSA program consists of students Google has met over the years through mutual passion for technology and innovation, and is currently by nomination only. The program is one school year in length. A video about Google and GSAs at Saudi universities was displayed at the forum that explains the Google Student Ambassador Program.
“Information Technology helps in solving many issues such as unemployment and self-development,” said Cisco employee Shahd Al-Attar during her speech about "Connected Future" at the forum.
Al-Attar added, “The devices or gadgets through which we use the Internet aren’t important, but what we are doing when we use the Internet is.” She pointed out that according to a study conducted by Cisco, 90 percent of the Internet-connected devices are not being used to connect to the Internet.
Cisco Systems, Inc. is an American multinational corporation and a worldwide leader in networking equipment that transforms how people connect, communicate and collaborate.
The forum encompasses a number of seminars delivered by GSAs in KSU, in which Google ambassador, Hazwa Al-Dossari delivered a worksheet entitled “A Brand called YOU” which included questions related to self-development and its future, in addition to introducing brands forms.Google ambassador Zubaydah Kenkar spoke of her GSA journey, the registration process in the program and her experience and love for Google that she shares with millions of people who heavily use Google products all over the world. She indicated that the Google policy is based on three factors, namely “place, projects and people.”

Furthermore, several projects for web design pioneers who attended the website Marathon by using the Google site, were put on display at the forum, which was held a month ago with Amal Al-Assaf, Google ambassador and a member of Student Partnership at the Scientific and Medical Colleges, who discussed the theme “How Google Makes Money” at the forum.
